Svetlana decided to leave when even the slightest doubt had disappeared. After spending 15 years together, everything had crumbled. Svetlana had once believed she could change her husband, rescue him from his swamp of alcohol, laziness, and lies. But now, looking at his face, she felt nothing — no anger, no love. Just exhaustion, heavy like a boulder.

It all started one ordinary evening, with nothing remarkable to note. Dmitry staggered into the house, completely drunk, and collapsed onto the kitchen table. He began pounding his fist on the wood, shouting about how cold and heartless she was. Then, he carelessly blurted out that he was leaving for another woman — Tamara, from the beer kiosk. She appreciated him, unlike Svetlana. Then he fell asleep, drooling on his sleeve.

Svetlana stood up, went to the bathroom, washed her face, and stared into the mirror. Thirty-eight. Her gaze was empty. No anger, no sorrow. Just silence. That night, she made a decision — enough was enough.

The next morning, as Dmitry, green from a hangover, shuffled towards the kettle, she was already sitting with a piece of paper in her hand. It was an official divorce petition.

«What’s this?» he croaked, scratching his head.

«It’s what you shouted about yesterday. Living with me is torture. I’m like a splinter to you. I’m doing what you wanted. Divorce.»

«Are you not scared I’ll leave?» he sneered.

«Not anymore. Fear is gone. You want to go? Go. We’ll split the apartment legally. Or stay, but on one condition.»

«What condition?»
